WHAT IF YOU COULD TIME TRAVEL?
I’ve spent this week hanging with this sweet nugget, Cebu, my 2.5 yr-old niece. I think she’s becoming one of my best friends + it got me thinking about the last year + the people that are in my life now. In the last year, I have made friendships with people much older + much younger than I + it’s made me realize how important age perspectives are to becoming myself. Those much older are a MIRROR for deeply seated patterns, for radical self-love, for the ability to hold fear + love in the same breath, generosity, deep inner + worldly wisdom, boundaries, dignity, belonging, honoring oneself above all else. Those much younger than I remind me of how SIMPLE, yet uncomfortable emotions can be, the ability to shift states quickly without holding too tightly to any of it, unabashed laughter, the power of being naked, imagination, unconditional love, + innocent wisdom.
We live in a world that prioritizes the worth of people based on their age + this fallacy is fucked. We all have something beautiful to share with each other, no matter what year you are born. We’re all humans having an experience that is worth hearing. Everyone has something to teach, share, + open up in us, if we are open to it. I highly recommend figuring out how to open up to it.
We aren’t meant to do this alone. We aren’t meant to have have all the answers. WE ARE MEANT TO LEARN FROM EACH OTHER. To see the universality of our human experience across time while we sit in our own reality, right now. If we are all one, and we are all reflections of each other, then maybe we do + can experience time travel + parallel universes in real-time through the eyes of those around us.
